i understand the point of view of the Church against artificial birth control. they stick to the teachings that people must "go and multiply" as indicated in the Bible. but their stand is somehow confusing because they are also against artificial procreation methods which allows people to practice the commandment "go and multiply." "No mechanical technique can substitute the act of love that two married people exchange as a sign of a greater mystery," Benedict said in his speech. with the statement above, Pope Benedict is driving at a point there but what could be the other option for couples who have been doing their best to conceive for many years but still were not blessed to have a child? i think that for couples who are in this situation will more likely resort to artificial procreation methods, if possible. in my opinion, even if a child is a result of artificial method, he or she is still a blessing from God even if the parents did not go through the traditional expression of love for married couples.

i never thought that Mother's Day celebration has already reached a century. it's good to know that someone like Anna Jarvis organized this special event to honor our loving mothers. i really agree that they (mothers) deserve at least a day of celebration where their big contributions to society are remembered. mothers play a big role in shaping lives of children for them to grow as responsible individuals. i also think that it's alright to spend gifts and dinners to treat our mothers. it would be nicer though if we could really sit down and write a heartfelt letter of gratitude for them. :-).
